MOTHERS ARE POISONING THEIR CHILDREN!
Natural Manna does not apologise for the above statement but rather hopes that visitors to this site will have an interest in healthy eating and will understand and read the statement in context.
By the age of 18 months a child's diet will have been set by the main carer, usually his/her mother and these early days will establish the attitudes towards food this child will grow up with. The main diet of toddlers is sweets, highly coloured soft drinks, additive laden snacks and foods such as 'Chicken Nuggets'. The incidence of chronic and dread health problems suffered by a great number of children could easily be prevented by early healthy nutrition and where these have already presented, by altering childrens' diets dramatically to exclude processed and fast foods.
Mothers usually declare they want the best for their children yet they continue to purchase and serve foods they know to be harmful and do not exert pressure on schools to ensure that healthy food is offered to their children.
There are many ways to switch to healthier options and the whole family benefits from improved health - for more information or help with this contact Natural Manna.

Nutrition Facts - Things you need to know
Winter is a time when contrary to popular opinion, you need RAW, RAW and more RAW foods to help your immune system combat the effects of being exposed to the nasties like flu, bronchitis etc.
Now that Spring and Summer are on the way you need to carry on with the raw to extend the good work and build up your immune system for Autumn. Try and source a supplier of vegetables and salad stuff that is farm grown and preferably organic. Buy dirty, irregular carrots rather than the pristine psychedelic orange ones on sale in the supermarkets. The same principle applies to all other vegetables - the dirtier the veggies are, the richer in nutrients because they will have been freshly picked instead of in the cold chain for weeks.

Exercise
A wonderful way to help de-stress is to exercise moderately. When you exercise the body produces endorphins - the 'feel good' hormones - which help to de-stress after a day in the office, and other situations which may cause stress in your life. The recommended level of exercise is 30 minutes between 3 - 5 times a week and even a gentle walk in the park in the fresh air can do wonders! Try it!

Health Updates!
The latest statistics on obesity in the UK are frightening!
- Obesity costs the country £500,000,000 per annum
- Obesity is the cause of 31,000 deaths per annum
- Obesity can contribute to the increased risk of cancer, diabetes and coronary heart disease
- Obesity is reducing the longevity of our children
- 1 in 3 children under the age of 16 is overweight
- 1 in 4 children under the age of 16 is clinically obese!
- Obesity causes the loss of 18 million working days per annum
Above are just a few of the facts - we in the UK are quickly catching up with the USA as being the fattest nation in the world. At Natural Manna we believe this has arisen with the increase over the past 20 years of fast food outlets and high consumption of processed food.
If you would like to change your and your family's diet for the better then contact us here at Natural Manna - we can help you to make better choices without compromising on taste. Without your health you have nothing!

Recipes for Spring 2004
The weather is just about to turn the corner - now is the time to indulge in delicious, vitamin-rich and immune system building raw salads. A favourite both for taste and colour is Natural Manna's Beetslaw.
Shred in a food processor some white cabbage, raw carrot and peeled raw beetroot. Add a couple of sliced spring onions or half a red onion finely chopped. Season with Herbamare or ground sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Dress with equal quantities of a good mayonnaise [or a home made one] and fat free bio-culture yogurt. If you are trying to detox the best dressing is olive oil, lemon juice and chopped parsley. The raw beetroot makes this coleslaw the most incredible colour - but do remember to wear rubber gloves when peeling the beetroot else you'll end up with fingers the same colour as the coleslaw!
Enjoy! and come back for more
Roasted Roots Delicious root veggies - peel and chop into chunks parsnips, carrots, beetroot, potatoes, slit some plum or other tomatoes, shred 2-3 cloves of garlic. Place into an oiled oven tray, drizzle olive oil over, season with sea salt, black pepper and any spices you like. Oven bake for 45 minutes at 190c, turning occasionally until cooked but still with some bite. Eat as is or serve with your protein portion [food combiners beware - potatoes should not be eaten with animal protein]. If you don't manage to eat all the veggies at one go, these will keep in the fridge for a few days and all that is needed is a couple of minutes heating in the micro. Maximum pleasure for minimum effort. Just what life should be about! Enjoy!!!!!!
